Wood floors

Solid oak parquet and planks from carefully selected Czech oak. We compose grain and dimensions around your room, not around stock formats. A floor that still looks right in thirty years.

Why us…

A floor that lasts decades

A solid wood floor is not a solution for a few years. It ages with the house and keeps its beauty for generations.

The whole board is oak, not just a thin top layer. It can be sanded again after twenty years and look new — on an engineered floor the wear layer is so thin you can sand it once, maybe twice.

  • Solid, not engineered The whole board is oak. It can be sanded after twenty years and look new — on an engineered floor the wear layer is thin and takes one or two sandings at most.
  • Slow drying We dry the wood slowly even though it takes longer. Fast drying tears it inside and shows only years later, when nothing can be done.
  • Laid to the room We draw the layout from the floor plan so no narrow off-cuts are left at the walls and transitions into other rooms line up.
  • Finished on site Oil goes on after laying. The surface is then continuous, with no visible seams between boards.

From our work

Completed floors

Patterned and plank floors in solid oak — from Versailles panels to wide boards.

How it works

01

Survey

We come, measure the area and check the subfloor moisture. Free within 50 km of Karlštejn.

02

Choosing pattern and tone

We lend you samples to take home. Oak shifts tone with the light; in your living room it looks different than in our showroom.

03

Quote and laying plan

You get the price and a drawing of where the pattern runs and where the transitions are. The quote is valid for 30 days.

04

Manufacture

Six to ten weeks from confirmation. We keep the material from one batch so the tone does not vary across the floor.

05

Laying

With our own crew. On larger areas room by room, so you do not have to move out all at once.

06

Finishing

Sanding and oil on site. Once cured we hand the floor over with care instructions.

FAQ

What thickness of floor should we choose?

For flats and family houses we recommend 21 mm, a thickness that takes several sandings. For commercial spaces and over underfloor heating we judge each case separately — thicker is not automatically better, and over heating it actually slows the heat transfer.

How long does a solid floor last?

Solid oak can be sanded several times, so the lifespan runs into decades. What matters is not so much the traffic as the maintenance and stable air humidity — the ideal range is 40 to 60 per cent.

Do we have to move out during laying?

Yes, the rooms have to be cleared. On larger jobs we work room by room, so you can live in part of the house and move only the furniture that is currently in the way.

Can the floor be laid over underfloor heating?

Yes, but we choose a suitable build-up and thickness and always measure the moisture of the substrate first. The heating has to be run before laying and then brought up gradually to a protocol — otherwise the timber moves more than it should.
